Are
The Ideals and Realities Youth Empowerment Foundation (IRYEF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the holistic development of Nigerian youth. Since our inception in 2012, we’ve worked tirelessly to equip young people with the tools they need to overcome adversity and step into lives of purpose, leadership, and impact.
We understand that today’s youth face significant challenges—ranging from unemployment and lack of access to quality education, to mental health stigma and the absence of strong mentorship. Our mission is to stand in the gap, creating platforms that transform potential into achievement.

Our Programs
Students Productive Life Initiative (SPLIN)
SPLIN guides students through life beyond academics—covering self-mastery, career readiness, financial literacy, goal-setting, and social media etiquette. It helps young people discover their strengths and harness them for a purposeful life.
I Need to Know – TeenzSummit
An annual summit that connects youth with inspiring role models—entrepreneurs, public figures, and industry leaders—sharing stories of both success and failure. Over 4,500 students have walked away inspired and ready to pursue their dreams.
Equip the Future (ETF) Radio Series
Broadcasting weekly to over 5,000 listeners, this program addresses health, career choices, and life skills—bringing vital, actionable insights to youth in Nigeria’s South-South and South-East regions.
Skill-Up
More than vocational training—this program turns passion into livelihood. Youth gain skills that boost income, build confidence, and support independence, with many participants supporting their families or paying for their education through what they’ve learned.
Civic Young
Educating youth on governance, community engagement, and leadership. Civic Young empowers the next generation of citizens to shape society and influence policy for good.
